The Crucifix at the Vatican

Pilgrimage for the Priests

On October 25, 2009 at a retreat at the St. Hedwig's Church in Detroit Michigan, we received a beautiful gift from God, a Crucifix. This gift involves mystery and complexity. We can state that from that time until today, God alone has been the architect of this pilgrimage.

From October 26, 2009, when Pope Benedict XVI proclaimed the Year of the Priest, our family consisting of Nick, Doris, Doris Ivone and Juan Pablo and under the guidance and blessing of Our Heavenly Father, we went on a pilgrimage through all the churches of the Archdiocese of Detroit, offering the Holy Mass for all the priests and for holy vocations. The crucifix was blessed by the priest who celebrated the Mass.

At the end of our pilgrimage we’ll explain the beautiful history that surrounds this sacred image. In churches to which we have traveled, the Lord showed us repeatedly, and with testimonies of the priests, that He Himself chose the churches and the priests who blessed Him. The pilgrimage took us to 284 churches in three years. You can see the stages of the pilgrimage by clicking here.

Through this pilgrimage we have learned that more than sharing Christ with other communities and churches, it is a motivation to pray for priests, and show an appreciation to those who have left their families and environment to help extend the Kingdom of God here on earth. The priests speaking and acting in the name of Christ, let us embrace eternity with the Holy Sacraments and feed us with the living presence of Christ through the Holy Eucharist. We need to encourage, support and strengthen them with our prayers. Thousands of priests give their life drop by drop for the love of God and the humanity.

Finally, we're asking God that through this pilgrimage, He repairs the church, where the crucifix was taken, from every sin committed against his sacred person and against his spouse the Church.
